Duxford on 11 July 2010















The above two photos show the French based Baghdad Fury (without an arrester hook) registered F-AZXL is painted in the colours of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). This aircraft had the original Bristol Centaurus engine replaced by a Pratt and Whitney R-3350 driving a four blade propeller and first flew with this engine in 1996. It is owned my M. Frederic Akary and is based in Avignon.

The above photo shows from the left;
1) G-HURI, a Hurricane Mark IIa built in Canada in 1942 and now owned by the Historic Aircraft Collection and painted as Z5140 in RAF number 126 Squadron colours as aircraft 'C'.
2) G-BTVE, a Demon Mark I owned by Demon Displays and painted as K8203 and in RAF number 64 Squadron colours.
3) G-BWWK, a Nimrod Mark I and is serial number S1581. It is owned by the Fighter Collection and is painted in RN number 802 Squadron colours.
4) G-BURZ, a Nimrod Mark II number and is serial number K 3661. It is owned by the Historic Aircraft Collection and painted in RN number 802 Squadron colours.
5) G-AENP, a Hind was delivered new to the Royal Afghan Air Force in 1938. It now is owned by the Shuttleworth Collection and is painted as K5414 in RAF number 15 Squadron colours.

North Weald on 25 April 2010





































This ex Spanish Air Force HA 1.112 - M1L Buchon is the Spanish built version of the Messerschmitt 109. It has the same under engine radiator configuration as the first prototype Me-109A which first flew with a Rolls-Royce Kestrel. The Buchon performance is as follows:

Built in Canada as RCAF serial number 5403, this aircraft is owned by Peter Teichman of Hanger 11, North Weald. It has the civil registration G-HHII and is painted to represent RAF Squadron 174 (code letters XP) aircraft 'L' with serial number BE505.
